Christmas Concert 2011

On Tuesday, December 13th, 2011 Francis Libermann celebrated Christmas with a wide variety of outstanding vocal and instrumental performances that were directed by our outstanding Music teacher Mr. P Champion. The Libermann community eagerly joined together to celebrate this holiday season, as well as to watch our Junior and Senior concert bands in action! It was truly a magical evening, as everyone was filled with the Christmas sprit! Libermann would like to sincerely thank Mr. P Champion, Ms. C. Smith, Mr. M Dimonte, and Mr. F Gartside for their commitment to making this year's Christmas concert a memorable one. Merry Christmas Libermann!

Witness to Faith Cross

Having seen the Witness to Faith Cross once, we had anticipated with eagerness the ceremony which we had with the entire student body and staff.  We had two services in the front foyer.  Since bearing witness was a more public activity, we thought that this was a significant way to illustrate the witnessing value of living a Christ – centred life.  The prayer service included readings by staff members and music provided by our choir.  They sang  City of God.  It truly represented the nature of our call to be God’s city, modeled on the life of Jesus Christ.  It was a recognition and acknowledgement of the primary focus of our schools, to be grounded and anchored in the life and works of Jesus. 

 

Social Justice Symposium

Brebeuf College School hosted its eight annual Social Justice Symposium for Catholic high school students on December 8th, 2011 at St. Michael's College of the University of Toronto. The theme for the Symposium was "Ecological Justice", affording students the opportunity to learn from a variety of speakers who care for Creation and the environment. The Libermann students who attended enjoyed an informative and inspiring day of discussion on such topics as Volunteering in the Developing World, Greenpeace Canada and the Alberta Tar Sands.

Junior Boys Basketball

The Junior Boys Basketball team played a very successful game on Thursday, December 8th, 2011. They played and fought hard all the way to the very end. The boys worked together not only as a team, but as a family. They've been committed team mates and have developed a brotherly bond that was a huge factor in their performance. Our boys have made our school so very proud. All the staff and students at Libermann have shared their appreciation for our players by cheering them on with excitement! Our school's spirit has definitely impacted their motivation and success, as Falcon spirit is one in a million!
