Open House

Here is a video of the highlights of the Grade 8 Open House which presents a word from our Principal, Mr. Brian Hunt, as well as from our Student Council President, Heshan Ranansinghe. Also, it presents a performance done by the Senior Stage Band organized by Mr. Champion as well as a sneak peak of the Math, Science, and Technology Program featured at our school.

Remembrance Day

These are the highlights of the 2011 Remembrance Day Service held at our school which features the presentation of the wreaths created by the all homeroom classes, the playing of the Last Post by Nicholas T. and Andrew K., as well as the reading of Flanders Fields done by Gerrit S. Also, the interviews about the service from fellow faculty members as well as from our special guest, Sergeant McCauley

Witness Cross Ceremony

On Thursday, November 22nd Francis Libermann was honoured with The Witness Cross. The Witness Cross is part of a three - year program embraced by TCDSB to nurture our Catholic School Community through WORD (2009-2010), Worship (2010-2011) and Witness (2011-2012).  The beautiful Cross was made by the students of Neil McNeil.  It will be travelling to all of our schools over a two year period. This year it will go to our East end schools and next year it will travel to our schools in the West end. It was created to strengthen and remind us of the importance of being witnesses for Jesus in the world by displaying the virtues of love, compassion, kindness, care, justice and peace. The ceremony was truly a joyous one as members of the St. Ignatius community walked the cross to Francis Libermann in celebration of our Catholic Faith.

Senior Boys Volleyball off to OFSAA in Hamilton

 

The Senior Boys Volleyball team is ranked 11th out of 20 participating AAA teams in Hamilton.

CSUNA 2011

The sixteenth Catholic Schools United Nations Assembly (CSUNA) was held at the Catholic Education Centre on November 17th, 18th & 19th, 2011. Every year, over 450 Catholic high school students from the greater Toronto area meet for an exciting two days of debate, negotiation, and compromise as they each represent a member state of the United Nations in a variety of committees. This year, as in the past, Francis Libermann students represented themselves and their school as strong ambassadors of the Libermann community representing their delegated country. Congratulations to all student delegates for a job well done.

Remembrance Day 2011

Students, staff and community members gathered in front of Francis Libermann on Friday, November 11^th, 2011 to pay tribute with two minutes of silence to honour Canada's fallen soldiers. The event was truly memorable as the entire Libermann family joined together to appreciate those individuals who left their friends and families behind in order to serve and protect our Canadian freedoms and values. Today's ceremony reminded everyone of how these soldiers fought the violent forces that sought to oppress our freedom, and many gave their lives in those battles. Thank you to all veterans for all the sacrifices you have made! Libermann Remembers.

 

Libermann Open House 2011

Francis Libermann's annual Open House Night took place on Thursday, November 3rd. The night was truly remarkable, as prospective students and their parents had the opportunity to meet Francis Libermann’s dedicated staff and see for themselves just how special our catholic community really is. Both staff and students at Francis Libermann are very excited to welcome new families into our home. See you in September!

For those grade 8's interested in applying to Francis Libermann M.S.T Program, can find a copy of the M.S.T application form in the link below. This form includes both a student application and teacher referral form.

Please make note of the following dates with regards to the M.S.T Program:

In order to be eligible to apply for this M.S.T program you must RSVP your intention to write this test. Have a parent/guardian email Ms. Laila Velocci, Vice-Prinicpal at Francis Libermann CHS - laila.velocci@tcdsb.org, no later than Friday November 18, 2011

Make sure the completed application form, along with a copy of your most recent report card and reference letters  are c/o Laila Velocci by Friday November 18, 2011

Make sure that your teacher completes the Confidential Grade 8 Teacher Referral form and sends it through the school courier to "Laila Velocci", Vice-Principal, Francis Libermann C.H.S

Complete a comprehensive skills test that will comprise of Math, Science and Literacy paragraph based on material you are covering or have covered at your current elementary school. Date of the test is Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 4:00pm

Letters will be mailed by Wednesday February 22, 2012 to applicants informing them the results of the application process.

 

 

Awards Night 2011

On October 27th, 2011 Francis Libermann celebrated their annual Awards Night Ceremony. The evening was truly memorable, as all staff and community members came out to celebrate the success of our children. Students who earned honour standing and superior grades during the 2010-2011 school year were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements. These students have been true examples of academic excellence, as they have displayed exceptional dedication and commitment to their education and personal growth. Congratulations to our top achievers! You play a very strong role in making Francis Libermann the special family that it is. God bless.
